Chomolhari Trek -
Trip - TBG - CHOMOLHARI TREK, Departure Date - Wednesday 5th October 2011

Wondering if there is anybody out there who is going on the trip starting Oct 4th to Bhutan.

We are leaving New Zealand this Saturday, and will meet the tour in Kathmandu via Hong kong and India.

Chomolhari Trek -

Hi Lynley, a friend & I are joining the trip in Kathmandu on the 5th, we both reside in Scotland. I'm really looking forward to it, just trying to make sure I've got all the correct kit. Have you trekked in this region before?

Enjoy Hong Kong & India. Phil

Chomolhari Trek -

Hi Lynley, Phil,

I'm on this one too and will be joining at Heathrow - really looking forward to it!!

See you in Kathmandu,

Heidi

Hi Phil & Heidi,We have -

Hi Phil & Heidi,

We have walked the Annapurna Sanctury trek (Nepal), in 2009 which we absolutely loved. I think this is going to be a bit harder so hope I am not too old and unfit !! It is hard to know what sort of weather to expect. Everthing I guess. We have been following the forecast for weeks and it sure rains a lot and is pretty cold, so bring plenty of warm layers. We might be pleased to be sleeping in tents if there is another earthquake while we are there.

Look forward to meeting you all. Its getting exciting as we leave home in 2 more days.

So are you a kiwi Heidi?

 Lynley and Lindsay

Weather -

Hi All.

I'm the friend Phil mentioned!  I've been pondering the weather too - which site were you using Lynley?

I figure it's the mountains so expect most sorts of weather but, I'm still debating which bag to take: a 3/4 season with a fleece liner to beef it up if needs be or just go with a 4 season and be done with it!

 See you all in Kathmandu!

 Dave

Hi all, See what you mean -

Hi all,

See what you mean about the weather - not looking too great at the moment.....and looks like it is set to continuel like that for the next week.......hopefully it will improve before we arrive. Think I am going to go for the 4 season sleeping bag as it does look a little on the cold side! It sounds like there was a fair bit of damage from the earthquake in Kathmandu - hopefully there will be no more activity while we are there!! Which currency are you all planning on taking - US dollars, pounds or other?  Heidi  ps I'm originally from the UK but emmigrated to NZ

Money -

I'm going to take USD in small bills, and a bit of GBP.

Current outlook for Thimpu on weather seems to be daily 21-22oC, light rain, 10ish in the evenings. I guess the higher we go the colder it will get. I'm going with the 4 season, and think I need to buy some more mid-layers!

5 days until departure, really looking forward to it.

 Phil
