Classic Dolomites - TWU - 21 Aug 10- Anyone Going?

Hi John & Rosalyn. Yes people are going it's a full trip, 15 people. Hotel and town are great and the walks for the 'B' grade trip you've chosen are comfortable. The walks take you all through the area of the North Eastern Dolomites and differ each day. Lots of opportunities to visit mountain hut and sample: Apfelstrudle and/or Kaiserschmarren.

I know the weather is changeable but can you advice us if you need heavy duty waterproof clothing.  We are planning to walk in windproof / shower proof shell jackets and have light weight packaway waterproof jacket and trousers (£20 specials from Cotswold).  Not heavy duty gortex stuff.  Is this OK

On the Classic Dolomites 'B' Walks you should be fine with a lightweight waterproof jacket and overtrousers as we are never very far from shelter and they offer you protection from wind and rain. Boots, midi boots or better are essential and sticks are useful. Water bottle 2ltr and sunlotion are important. Check insurance adequate (2650mtrs) or book it through Exodus.

If you are thinking of doing a C grade trip I'd make sure you had a good jacket, good boots and sticks. KDM
