Thanks

Clothing,again!! -

We are travelling from Lima to Le Paz ,Machu Pichu (not hiking!) Early February, and I need some clothing information. I gather it will be cool most of the time at elevation. Does anyone have experience with this area that can give me some pointers?

Confusidly overpacking at the moment! Thankyou

Dear Hazel,

There is not a huge amount of space in the cabins on the Cachalote so we recommend packing fairly lightly for this trip - several changes of swimwear would be helpful as you'll no doubt be in and out of the water every day. You may want to take t-shirts that can be worn in the water to prevent sunburn. Alternatively, wetsuits can be hired on board for US$30 per week. I would also recommend taking some good walking shoes with you for times when you'll walk ashore. For the rest of the time, comfortable, casual clothing will be suitable, perhaps with one or two warmer things for the evenings (in Quito it can be cooler due to the high altitude). Hope this helps.

Kind regards, Vicky
