Cross Country Skiing in Kvitavatn

Hi Richard?
There's a group of 4 of us going on this trip: Colin, Ian, Colin (Ian's son) & Adam.
We did a similar trip to Kvitavatn this year - if you have any questions about the resort and/or facilities, just fire away.
Cheers,
Colin
Hi,
I am going on this trip - I have been going to Kvitavatn for ~20 years in all its various existences
You can have a look at its web site at http://www.kvitaavatn.no/en/ I spoke to Ilse this morning (28th Dec) and she says she will be there this winter. She and her partner Chris were there for the XMAS and NewYear trips.
The resort is a well established cross country venue with both track and off-track (back country) skiing. There are also some down hill pistes with more being developed v.good for those wishing to do telemark on the piste.
For those who have not been before Kvitåvatn Fjellstoge it was founded by an Englishman in the late 1970's and is is owned by a group of Danish folk. It has been run during the late 1990s up to last year by Marianne Folmer and Trevor Dowe. Marianne has retired in Oct 2010 I understand Trevor will continue to run the ski hire. The new manager is Peter Karlsen (also Danish) The resort is v family friendly with a number of Danish schools and ski clubs visiting - it is also the venue for a number of Snow sport England and xcountry ski club private trips.
You will no doubt know alcohol is v expensive in Norway but the Kvitåvatn Fjellstoge has traditionally taken a relaxed view to consuming your own duty frees just be discreet in case the alcohol police pay a visit.
If I can answer any queries pl feel free to ask.
(PS Ilse likes chocolate)
