CYCLE INDOCHINA & ANGKOR WAT - leaving 27th March

I'm booked to go on this trip and I'm really looking forward to it. It's been a long cold winter and it'll be so good to pedal in the sunshine again. I seem to be quite well organised as far as visa and jabs are concerned, just have to get travel insurance and a few wee bits and pieces and I'll be all set.

Have you taken the plunge and booked it yet??

Yes I'm all booked, passprort back with Vietnamese Visa and jabs next week.

Not quite as fit as I had intended to be though and fast running out of time.

Yep, me and my husband are going.  Jabs and visa sorted, just the fitness to sort now.  The weather hasn't made it easy to get out and about though.  Intensive training starts now.... ;-)

Really looking forward to this trip and meeting you all. Still have to get my visas but at least I got the medical bits sorted.

We sent off for our visas on Monday 22nd and got them back yesterday - so a fairly quick turn around.  I'm getting excited about the trip (although still nervous about the amount of cycling required!).  Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi, just wondering how much cycling people have been doing in the cold weather?  I'm really curious sabout  the expected level of fitness.

I don't think that a high level of fitness is required for this trip. Admittedly I haven't looked at the trip notes for a while but an average daily distance of 50km per day springs to mind. It's mostly flat as well. That said the first day is 90km so that might be a bit tougher in the heat......

that's ok then.

Another quick question, is anyone taking much camera gear with them?  I dont really want to look like a pack-mule, but have no experiece of this kind of thing, and would hate to leave anything behind and then regret it.

Hi All, Im coming on this trip too!  Only booked last week so am madly getting visa and jabs. I'm on a different flight from others from the UK, so I'll be waiting at the airport in Thailand for all of you!  Looking forward to meeting all of you and enjoying a lot of cycling!  see you all very soon!
