Cycling in Cuba

Just booked 16 day Cuba cycling did you have a good time Babs

Hi folks, I have just booked this trip, so would be keen to hear from anyone also going. I was cycling in Kerala in January which was great and some of the group  recommended Cuba so thought I would give it a go. Have to get my salsa shoes on!

Just booked on the trip myself having been on the laos and North vietnam trip last november. Again, some of the group highly recommended Cuba so thought I would give the old legs another go at the Cycling and the "salsa".

Hi Good to hear another who is booked for this trip. Are you flying out of Gatwick too?

Hi Alison.  Yes, I have booked the group flights with Virgin. Thought abot staying out there a bit longer but its getting close to Christmas. Looks like everbody getting an Havana Cicar as a present this year!

Doing much cycling at the moment ? I've been a bit too busy to get on it much recently, so September it will have to be !Before the nights close in.

Myself and hubby are joining you in November, and flying from Gatwick on the Virgin flight.  Cant wait!  Not entirely convinced my 25km commute in and out of London each day is going to give me the best training, especially with the humidity, but looking forward to it.  Looks like our trip is now fully booked.  Emily

Emily, its not that humid in Dec. The worst time is July/Aug. November shoudl be quite nice for cycling, I did last year Nov cycle (MAH). Virgin flight is good, lots of food and drink, free. There are a couple of hard days cycles but they are near the end of the trip on the says where you go up the mountains to Sierra Maestra (my fav) and its beautiful. Please see my handy tips if you wish that I emailed to WeeJo in the Dec departure forum. You will all love it I am sure, whether you are fit, young, unfit or old.. its a birllian trip - enjoy x

Mrs D has just come back from a cycle round the block ... she's getting worried having re-read the distances on the itinerary. 

I'm just looking forward to the cigars and rum .... that's what it's all about isn't it?

Unfortunately, I came down with a nasty chest infection the week before due to travel. Didn't really want to pass this on to te rest of you so cancelled last minute.

Just interested to hear how the tour went, if anybody has a moment to update me.  Will probably re-book for next year.

Well Brian, I'm afraid you missed a brilliant trip! Great cycling, amazing country and a really good group led by our outstanding guide, Laz. That's maybe not what you wanted to hear but I would recommend booking ASAP!
