Hi There,We are doing this -

Hi There,

We are doing this trip and are really looking forward to it. Have just got our passports back with our visas in and are thinking about getting our vaccinations/ malaria tablets sorted out soon. Have you any idea what malaria protection we will need for the trip?

Hello AnnieGreat to hear -

Hello Annie

Great to hear from you!

I'm not entirely sure yet as to what malaria protection we will need. I've got an appointment with my doctor this week for the first of my batch of jabs, and to discuss malaria. I'll keep you updated on what I am told. I haven't got my visas yet, but will get those sorted asap.

I'm really looking forward to the trip too. It's my first trip of this kind...have you done anything like this/travelled with Exodus before?

Hi Adam,Sorry about the -

Hi Adam,

Sorry about the sluggish reply-it's been a bit of a hectic week.

I have been to India before but about 10 years ago to the south. I travelled around for a month and it was the best trip I have ever had. Nicky had a work trip to India last year and went to loads of places. It sounds like the India she saw last year is VASTLY different to the one I saw 10 years ago!! Lots of development has taken place by the sound of it. We went on two Exodus trips this year one to Vietnam and an adventure holiday to turkey. Both were very good hence we have booked again with Exodus for this trip.

I have got an appointment with my GP on Monday to go into the ins and outs of vaccinations and malaria protection but I suspect I had to have all the vaccinations required when I went to Vietnam so hopefully I hae just the tablets to sort out. As a little tip, if we have to get the same malaria tablets as we had for Vietnam they come on private prescription and therefore have to pay for them. We found it MUCH (about 50%) cheaper to get them from boots online than from a High Steet pharmacist and where as I wouldn't normally get medication off the internet Boots online is obviously a trusted site.

speak to you soon!  :-)

Annie

vacinations -

Hi adam,

Just got back from the doctors. No vaccinations for me because of the Vietnam trip last year, but it looks like we may need malaria tablets in Nepal-Proguanil and Chloroquine-depending on the altitude we are at, so probably to cover us for the time  we are at the tiger sanctury and at Pokhara, Kathmandu is apparently OK. These tablets are available over the counter so no expensive private prescriptions :-)

Hi AnnieThanks for the -

Hi Annie

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!

I visited my GP last Friday and had my first couple of injections. This is my first trip of this kind, so I'm having to have all the vaccinations...and there are lots as you will know!

We are set to discuss anti-malarials at a later date, but the advice you gave me is worth bearing in mind, so thanks very much.

Adam
