Delhi to Kathmandu - departing 18th Feb

Hi Maggie, Thanks for your reply.....at least I know I am not the only solo traveller on the trip now.  I have just finished applying for my Indian visa and am going to post that off tomorrow......are you going to get your Nepal visa when you get there? I'm not sure what to do about that yet. Getting really excited now as only 6 weeks to go. Have you been on any other trips with Exodus? ....this is my first. Angela

Hi, just applied on line for the India visa last night- nearly lost will to live!!!. Have made an appt to drop off forms on Wed. Will get Nepal one before I go- form is much simpler!. This will be my frst Exodus trip too, though I have done a couple with Explore. Should be good. Are you in London area?

Hi, yes I know what you mean........soul destroying paperwork and a million questions but I'm sure it will be worth it. Still trying to find out how muchthe visa costs.......my computer isn't allowing me back on the webpage for some reason.......probably had enough of it too!!! I live in Todmorden which is on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border........still trying to decide whether to drive down to Heathrow or get the coach......are you from the London area then? Not heard of Explore.....where did you get to with them? I have a friend who did the Everest Base Camp trip with Exodus and he said they were great so I'm sure we will be well looked after. Angela 

Hello. I think it costs about £42. Yes, I live in North East London so will still take a few hours to get to airport. It'd be good if we could meet somewhere at the airport before we check in. I went to Egypt with them and then another trip to Thailand/ Cambodia and Vietnam which was great. I'm sure this will be great too. Maggie

Hi, well I really have lost the will to live now........think I will follow your example and book an appoinment to hand my forms in as the fees are a bit confusing....not sure if I have to pay an additional £10 or not and would prefer to see someone in person to ask, also have you put single or double entry into India on the form? I checked with Exodus and he said to put single as the re-entry from Nepal back to Delhi is 'transitionary' but when I have read the guidelines I'm not so sure that is correct now.......anyway its back to the application form again for me! This is really frustrating for me as normally I am quite confident with form filling.....just feel its all a bit complicated.......or is it just me? Your trip to Thailand ect sounds great......they are on my to do list!! Yes, it would be good to meet up at the airport first and maybe some other people on the trip will message us before then so we can arrange to meet them too. Ang

Hi, No its not just you! I found it terrible too-it took me ages,  i'm sure I've done something wrong and they'll refuse!. I put single entry as I checked with Exodus too, though it is a bit confusing as on the visa website it does seem as if we need a transit visa, though exodus said no. Glad its not just me who is confused! Maggie

Submitted my passport the other day.  Have just picked it up- with my India visa in it!- what a relief ! Hope your application got better. Maggie

Hi Maggie, glad you have got your visa......I can feel your relief from here!! I took my application in last week but had to go back again with it as I hadn't filled it in properly.......it was then sent off to Birmingham and I am waiting for the visa and passport to be returned by post, hopefully I will have it early next week. Not long to go now......I am getting excited and boring everyone to death with a countdown of days to go!! Angela

Hi Maggie, got my passport back with both visas in now so all set to go......can't wait to get there! Did a bit of shopping Saturday........feel like I have bought enough Imodium to bung up the whole of India but really don't want to have to use any of it. Are you doing the Annapurna extension trip at the end?......I need to get a few more things for that but not much else to do except wait now. Angela 

Hello, Am dropping my passport off tomorrow for my Nepal visa. Really don't want to get sick either, though nearly everyone I have spoken to who has been to India has done!. Got my Malaira tablets sorted too. Not doing the extension trip. Not long now. Maggie

Hi Maggie, getting really excited now as feel like I have been planning this trip for so long and can hardly believe that its almost here! Borrowed an Exodus kitbag from a friend but its enormous and think I could probably fit into it myself......I'm sure I will fill it but not so sure I will be able to carry it! I hope the weather improves.....its been quite bad up here and is still freezing so maybe more snow on the way.......the last thing we need is flight delays due to bad weather. It would be good to meet up with you at Heathrow prior to check in..........I don't know why more people haven't said hello to us on here but we will probably spot them in the queue anyway. I don't know Heathrow airport at all so have no idea where to meet you.......my coach is due to arrive at Terminal 4 around 4.30pm..... I think. We will be joining you on Saturday,really looking forward to it. We are also doing the Annapurna extension. Sorry to hear about the problems with the visas, but we too had ours returned. The visas for India arrived last weekend thankfully. Will get our Nepal visas when we arrive there as we ran out of time. Hope you have a good journey to Heathrow,will look for you in the flight queue! Liz
