Hi folks, anyone going to dharamsala...the home of the lovely dalai lama?
Hi Karen - i'm on the trip to dharamsala, coming with my friend Sharon. I blieve there are 11 of us booked on the trip at the moment so a nice sized group. My first time to India and I'm just sorting out my visa now!
Hi Diane, ta for reply. My first trip to India too and just got my visa application in on Thursday! Are you travelling from UK? I`m flying to London from Edinburgh and picking up the Delhi flight from Heathrow. Haven`t decided about vaccinations yet...will speak with the nurse on Monday.
We are flying from the UK but not on the group flights - flying Manchester to Doha then Doha to Amritsar ..... we should arrive before the group flight and then depart after the group - it's easier for us not to have to fly through London!
I havent looked into the vaccinations yet but think I've had most of the usual ones for previous holidays (fingers crossed!)
Hi Diane, I`ve been floored by a horrid chest infection, on the mend now, thank the goddess!
was hoping to chat with someone who might be travelling from London...so far no other contact. I`ll prob have to negotiate heathrow myself, arghh! Trying to work out what`s best clothing wise now and how much to bring, might be able to wash a couple items when in dharamsala.
Looking forward to meeting you both
hi diane, karen and sharon, my names carol and i'm booked on this trip to. this is my second trip with exodus and the first was to india which was when i heard of this trip and new i wanted to do it.
with regard to injections unless you haven't had any in the last couple of years i would check, as i went in 2012 i don't need any boosters and you don't need malaria tablets but you will need a strong insect repellant as there's day time midges i've been told [milletts do a good one].
i'm flying from heathrow and last time i went, exodus had all the travellers seated close together which was good as you had the flight to get chatting and know your fellow travellers. i just hope i'm not the grannie of the group and slow people down although it is suppose to be a relaxing trip. look forward to meeting you guys and everyone else on this trip.
i'm just so excited, carol

Hi folks, do you think its okay to bring a fairly big suitcase? The guy I spoke with at exodus said that we should be able to travel light...but I`m thinking it`s 2 weeks and with varying weather conditions...and also if we want to buy things to bring back?
Any views on this?
Not having done a trip like this before I feel a bit of a newby!
i did the golden triange [india] with exodus nov 2012 and i'd never done a trip like that before and made the big error of taking to many cloths - my thinking was eating in the evenings look nice - but we wore the same clothes all day got to a hotel/showered and put the same cloths back on so a lot of the clothes i took never saw light of day - so this time its combats then i can roll the legs up and a couple of t-shirts with long sleeves - with regard to bringing things back i bought a few silk things/tea/spices/carved elephant/jaipur puppet so sure you'll have room plus things are really cheap i spent less than £200 last time and that included meals/soft drinks
with regards to heathrow i'll be looking out for the exodus luggage labels to recognise people - so if a chubby woman suddenley starts chatting it will be me..carol
Thanks Carol, that`s really helpful! Okay, I`ll also be on the lookout for Exodus labels!
I`m quite a skinny woman with long grey (although I prefer silver!) hair.
Mind you, my case will be on board from Edinburgh...so I will put something on my rucksack.
Look forward to meeting you
Bye the noo
