I will not be on your trip in dec, but I am doing the same trip as you in july. if you want have a look at our thread. maybe after we return i may be able to answer any questions you may have. I am really looking forward to this adventure.
Myself and my husband are going.
I can't wait as I've been wanting to get to Costa Rica ever since we got married and stayed in Venezuela in 2000.
We'll be a bit older at 44 and 50 by then :D
As you said it will be nice to get to know each other a bit on here before we leave.
I'm also really excited about going, interested in seeing all the wonderful wildlife - will probably be forever taking photographs. I went to Sri Lanka on a similiar tour last year and met a couple who had done this trip and they said it was amazing! :)
Are you guys both flying from Heathrow?
Would be great to hear about your travel experience when you get back definately.
Keep us posted!
I am booked on this trip as of yesterday. When I saw 4 spaces left on this date I thought I better book or miss out. There are 13 of us, 5 couples and 3 singles, ages 25 to 73. I have travelled with
Exodus many times and similar small group adventure tour companies and find it is the best way to experience countries. I am from Canada, so to see most of the world is very long distance for me. it looks as though most of you that have posted are from the UK. Europe, Africa and Asia are so much closer for you. I recently completed Exodus' Borneo Wildlife Discoverer which was amazing. I have hopes that this will be just as exciting. Lesley will probably see the turtles hatching which would have been fantastic. Those dates didn't work for me but the weather will be the best when we are going. Can't wait!
Sorry for the delayed response - I thought it would send any replies to my inbox, but it didn't :(
Yep I think we are flying form Heathrow - I haven't actually checked but if that is the default thats what we'll do rather than mess about with connecting flights.
How did you get the info re there being 13 btw ?
We've never been on one of these types of holidays before but I've been drooling over the brochures for about 20 years :) when I first saw the 13 week Mexico trip whilst I was still single, unfortunately real life wouldn't allow that but I hope this will be the first of many to come.
Nice to see a mix of ages as my husband was worried he'd be the oldest by a long way.
My travel agent was able to get me the info as to how many people are on this trip and some demographics. They can't give names or addresses or anything like that, as I'm sure there are privacy issues. If you're travelling as a single as I am it can sometimes make a difference. There are some guaranteed trips that have nobody booked on them. How would it be if just you and the local guide were on this trip alone? The chemistry better be good or it could be awful. On the other hand you could have an excellent guide who could provide you an amazing trip. My husband usually doesn't accompany me on trips such as this as it is not his thing. For me it is a safer way to see the world. I like that Exodus gives us the opportunity to meet some of our travel mates beforehand. Also, they have uncensored reviews that I use as a tool to guage if the the trip is for me.
I can't wait to see you all! I'm sure we'll have an amazing trip with all the wildlife we're apt to see. Maybe Leslie can tell us about her trip in July.
