Trip - AOC - DISCOVER THAILAND, LAOS & CAMBODIA, Departure Date - Friday 11th September 2009

I am traveling on the Discover Thailand, Laos Cambodia program.  I was curious if anyone had been to these countries and if there are any recommodations for possible donations or items to bring?  I didn't see anything specific in the mailings.  Since these are some of the poorer countries in Asia, it seems like a good idea, but I don't want to do anything inappropriate either.   Any ideas?

I would recommend chatting with your tour leaders on the ground, you will have one for each country. There are various projects I know about that the leaders support informally and do point people in the right direction if they are interested. If you buy things such as stationary supplies for a school etc locally you are supporting the local economy and also dont need to have the weight in your international luggage allowance.
