Egypt - Worried

I am travelling to tunisia on the 12th february. I am monitoring firstly tunisia, but since it probalby won't be possible to go there, my second choice will be the mt sinai trip to egypt. We can all just wait.. Good luck

I'm doing the February 4 departure of the Egyptology trip and I'm not worried. I work with several Arabs who all have family/know people in Egypt and they've all reiterated that as long as we tourists stay out of protest areas (for example, Tahrir Square in Cairo) we should be fine.

We did the Petra & Pyramids trip last May - there were protests every Friday in Tahir Square - the day we visited the museum - but our tour leader made sure that we were well away from the area before there was any trouble. If the leader is in any doubt for your safety they won't go anywhere near! We never once felt threated - fantastic holiday - also an added bonus as there were not tourists about so no queues etc. Keep a lookout on Foreign Office website - they will advise you not to go if they think there is a threat.

Am travelling out on the 19th of February for the highlights of Egypt trip. Any one else monitoring the situation and slightly concerned?
