Trip - AYE - DISCOVER ETHIOPIA, Departure Date - Monday 12th October 2009
I am travelling next week and have had the necessary jabs but debating on whether or not to take malaria tablets. Are they really necessary on this trip?

They are probably not necessary on this trip, but some agencies report that there is malaria in the rift valleys.
I have some cheap doxycycline which is effective and which I shall probably take before entering the rift valleys.

Hi
Not a problem in most of th places you are going just be make sure you cover up in the evenings and wear some citronella or bug spray in the exposed parts, you are more likelly to get bitten from the flees in the temples so the same applies there.
