Just booked this trip for myself and husband Chris.  I've wanted to visit India for so many years and now its finally going to happen!  Look forward to meeting you.

Hi there Chris, Brenda and Chris, I've just made the booking for this trip, changed it from my plans to orginally go in October and so its a month nearer.  Doesn't it sound great?  look forward to meeting you all.

Anyone else out there who is planning to join us?  A little while to wait til September but thats half the fun looking forward to a great holiday.

Me and my hubby John have also booked. I spend a couple of weeks in India in 1994 but in different parts of the country and have wanted to return for more magic and mayhem ever since. And now finally, at last, plus I enticed John to come too. Really looking forward to sharing a fantastic experience with you all

Has anyone looked into buying their visas yet?  Wondered where the best/cheapest place would be?  After a quick look following the Exodus link it seems the cost will be about £100 each - more than I was expecting!  Any thoughts?

Hi everyone,  I am not joining you on this trip but I went in Oct 2006. It was one of the most memorable trips I have ever done, the walls of my lounge have some of the best photo's displayed that I have ever taken.  If you can afford it, take the early morning flight with Budda Air over the Everest range.  The small plane goes up one side of the range and then turns and comes down the other side, no matter where you sit you will have the most amazing views of the peak of Everest, you may not have climbed it but the sight of the flags will give you the same exhilaration that the mountaineers must have experienced.

By the way my visa cost me £42 and took 4 days though I did get it direct from the Indian visa office in London.

Hi again fellow adventurers, I love Scruffit's post! We are waiting for the arrival of our visas (cost of £43) which have just been posted and then we are just about ready other than sorting out a camera worthy of this epic trip. We have been having a suitcase/rucksack debate and finally decided on the latter which seemed more appropriate. It's been more than fifteen years since I used one and John is looking forward to seeing how I manage to cope and whether I can rise to the challenge of travelling light! Long gone are the days of a toothbrush and a pair of shorts for this geordie lass. See you all in a few weeks.

Hi Jen, good to hear from you, I'm counting down also, I need to get myself sorted with what to take, and yes I'm going to travel light also since once its packed we have to carry it.......well that's the plan... whether I can do that is another thing.
