Floods in Peru -

Just wondered if anyone had heard what the current situation is in Peru. A friend of mine rang me and said that there had been severe floods and parts of the Sacred Valley, Cusco, Machu Pichu were inaccesible due to road and rail links being washed away. We don't travel until April but I'm sure there are other trekkers visiting the area soon with Exodus.

Rains in Peru -

Hi Caroline,

Just to reassure you that we are continuously monitoring the situation in Peru, but all signs are that the rail link should be fully repaired by the end of March, and the Inca Trail is due to reopen as normal on 1 March (it's always closed for maintenance during February). Cuzco and the Sacred Valley are accessible and there have been no major rains since the end of January, which will really help the repairs to the rail line. We've cancelled one trip at the start of March, but all other trips are scheduled to go ahead as planned. To keep up to date with the latest, follow the news here.

Many thanks,

Tim Fearn (Exodus product manager)
