Fried spiders for Christmas lunch? -
Trip - MOC - CYCLE INDOCHINA & ANGKOR, Departure Date - Sunday 18th December 2011

Hi,

Thought I'd kick off a post for this trip - I believe it's going to be a full group. I'm Sarah, 31, from Gloucester. I've done a few Exodus trips but only one other cycling one - that was a Grade B too and Day 1 nearly killed three quarters of the group by heading straight up a mountain in Turkish midday sun! I'm praying that this trip will be a bit flatter - I'm not built for uphill on a bike!

Very excited about the places we'll be cycling through. Have never been to anywhere out that way before so a whole new culture to look forward to.

Hope some others say hello on here too, otherwise....see you all in December!

I did this a couple of years -

I did this a couple of years ago. I don't recall it being very hilly (I too am built for downhill) but it was exceptionally hot, especially the first few days in Thailand! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, particularly the 3 different countries which were very different to each other.

I didn't try the spiders though others in our group did - tastes just like chicken apparently!

Enjoy - I'm off cycling in Rajasthan though no-one from my trip appears to be on this forum!

Fried Spiders -

Hi Sarah,

Don't worry about the hills, there's no problem in retreating to the support bus if you need to especially in the heat. I've been on a cycling trip to Jordan with Exodus and a couple of others with Explore and I spent the millennium in Thailand treking amongst the northern hill tribes. I'm really looking forward to this trip and I remember the chocolate covered ants were very tasty although the news over there at the moment is pretty awful regarding the floods.

 Looking forward to meeting you.
