Highlights of Morocco and Mt Toubkal Winter Climb - 20th Jan 2011 - 8:02pm

Trip - AMH - HIGHLIGHTS OF MOROCCO, Departure Date - Sunday 6th March 2011

Hi I will be on the Highlights of Morocco tour from the 6th-20th March, but I'm going to be in Marrakesh on the 3rd-5th March, if anybody is going on that trip and are in Marrakesh at that time we could meet up and then get the train up to Casablanca on the 5th March in time for the trip.

All so I'm doing the mt toubkal winter trek from the 20th-27th March, and I would like to know what type of walking boots I should take with me that you can use with crampons.

Hi,

I used Salomon Mountain lites on the mountain days and walking boots for the walk in. Very good they were too. (don't know if you can still get them though)

Thanks tim for tghe advice, what wa the winter climb like was hard work, I've done Mt Kinabalu and in the uk the National Three Peaks and York shire three peaks is it harder then those treks

Walking boots - 25th Feb 2011 - 3:40pm

Hi there, C1 crampons are usually enough for the Mt Toubkal Winter Trek, so you'd need

four season hill walking boots with reasonably stiff flexing sole and uppers, to give you good ankle and foot support. If you wanted different crampons you may need different boots, for example C2 crampons need slightly different footwear.
