Is anyone booked yet on this trip? It's a guaranteed departure so I'm guessing a few people have booked already. We're still checking our flight options but will probably be booking this tour next week.
Yes, just booked it for 10th September departure. Looks fantastic and can't wait. Hope you get to go on one of the departures. Good luck.
We're booked on the trip startin September 4th. I'm so excited, I wish it was September already!

Great to meet some other travellers booked on this trip! Have you travelled with Exodus before?
Nice to make contact with a group member, no we have never travelled with Exodus before, but we are really looking forward to September, reading some of the other threads this company appear to have a very good reputation. we thought this type of holiday would be better within a group with a knowledgeable leader.
Are you flying direct to Beijing ? or stopping over, we are flying more or less direct from London via Dubai with Emirates.
Are you on the group flight? We're also flying with Emirates but from Frankfurt via Dubai. Even though we booked the air tickets by ourselves we are on the same flight from Dubai to Beijing as the group.
We haven't travelled with Exodus either but they do seem to have a very good reputation among travellers. Last year we went to Morocco with Intrepid and it was great to have a leader who explained all the details and answered our questions. I used to be a big fan of independent travels but I might be converting "to the other side" ;-)
Yes we to have always done the DIY holiday, last year we cycled the Moselle to Koblenz then down the Rhine, you really have got a lovely country to visit. China is something completely different, I think to get the most out of this holiday a good guide is essential. Really looking forward to meeting you and sharing what promises to be a fantastic experience.
I'm giving it another try... anyone else booked on this trip?
We can't wait to get going!!
Seems like our fellow travellers are not as keen to meet the rest of the group as we are ;-)
Did you apply for you visa already? I'll finish our applications over the weekend and send them out on Monday.
In two months we'll be in Xi'an already :-)
Have a great weekend!
Our visa forms are ready to be sent off to London, Monday morning also, we are really looking forward to this adventure. All the locations we will be visiting look fantastic, it is really hard to pick out a favourite, we cannot wait and are really looking forward to meeting everyone on the first evening.
David and Heather
Yes we have also got the visas, looking forward to meeting you in Dubai, I hope the rest of the group appear, as they are keeping a very low profile so far,we are going to have a fantastic time, the next 4 weeks are going to fly.
Have just joined the Community this morning. Am booked on the ACE trip starting 4th September. I am flying out of London on 3rd September on my own and meeting with two New Zealand friends in Beijing. I am flying out on Saturday 3rd on Cathay Pacific - anyone else departing from London?
Looking forward to meeting everyone - never been on organised trip in my life. Always lugging rucksack around never knowing where I am staying so am really looking forward to this trip.
Welcome on board, we are flying out from London on Emirates, re-fueling in Dubai en-route, our first group holiday too, but we are so much looking forward to this holiday, China promises to be a fantastic adventure, along with great fun from all involved, look forward to meeting you in Beijing.
Nice to hear from you Dave. I am meeting up with the group once you get to Beijing. I arrive just a couple of hours prior to you so will wait until you arrive and then travel to hotel with the group. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Roll on Saturday 3rd September!
OK, so it’s David & Heather, Sue & two friends from NZ, Matthias & me that we know of our group so far. Maybe a few other people are getting curious too, now that the departure date is coming closer and we’ll get to “meet” them on here.
David, how about trying to meet up in Dubai before we get onto the plane to BJ? The hubby and I will be arriving in Dubai from Frankfurt around midnight. I guess we’ll be hanging out killing time close to the departure gate. Or somewhere in one of the ridiculously expensive bars upstairs if Matthias needs a last nicotine fix before getting on the plane ;-)
Sue, I’m looking forward to meeting you in Beijing then!
19 days to go...
Hello gang, it's great we are getting names to one another before we go, remembering the groups 16 names and nationalities is going to be a test, so this forum communication is going to be a big help. Chris we arrive in Dubai around 1.00 a.m. we can arrange closer to the date a meeting stratergy, Sue, what are your NZ friends names? We are flying out from Heathrow terminal 3 maybe we will meet you too before departure.
Time cannot go quick enough
David & Heather
Morning Dave and Heather
Good to hear from you again. My New Zealand friends are sisters and they are Prue and Susan. They are flying up from Auckland and arrive the day before us. I fly out of LHR at 12 noon on Saturday 3rd so will be there from around 9.00ish if you are about that early - if not see you in China!!!
Cannot see us being in Heathrow that early, but really looking forward to meeting you in Beijing, another Sue on the trip should be interesting, we are driving up from Wales Friday afternoon and staying in Banbury overnight. Chris & Matthias I should imagine it will be reasonably easy to organise an introduction in Dubai, we will have to make sure it happens, the evening meal in Beijing promises to be a great welcoming party for us all, really looking forward to this.
Hi Sue, David and Heather!
Just a few more days to go until we'll meet up for some delicious Beijing Duck! Are you guys all prepared & ready to go?
Dave, have you been to Dubai airport before? According to our tickets, we are leaving from T3 to Beijing. I would suggest to meet up around one of the Zen-gardens (there are two on the departures level) of T3, whichever is closer to our departure gate. Let's say around 2am? We don't have any Exodus badges for our carry on luggage or anything else that would reveal that we are part of the group. Did you get anything like that - I think it was mentioned somewhere that residents of the UK will receive luggage tags by Exodus - will you use those?
Can't wait to get on that plane on Saturday!!
Chris & Matthias
Chris, we don't arrive in Dubai until 2.50a.m. with the departure time of 4.10a.m. for Beijing, we too have not got any Exodus baggage labels as we booked through a seperate travel company. I will be carrying a blue (North Face) back pack. Our itinery does not give onward journey details from Dubai, we are wondering if we are just on a refuel stop, if we are going to transfer from T3 we will look out for you both, the excitment is really building now, this is going to be a fantastic holiday.
Sue have a safe journey, look forward to meeting you in Beijing.
David and Heather
