India - Kerala Backwaters

Hi Lucy, it's great to hear from you. I have never been to India, although a friend wanted to visit Kathmandu and Mt Everest last September. I much prefer the warmer weather so can't wait to visit the tropics ;) It looks like we may share the room together. I'm booked on this trip as well. My first time to India. Just got my visa back, so starting to get excited now. Not too sure what to expect weather-wise. I see the trip notes suggest an umbrella!

Hi Tim, it is also my first trip to India but all of my friends suggest a very tropical, hot and humid weather, though you will need a jumper or parka for the hills. It is unlikely to rain in March. Today's forecast for Chennai is min.24 and max.34!!...Can't wait for a bit of heat and sun :)

Does anyone know where to exchange pounds for Indian Rupees? Do you get better rates in the UK or India? What is the reasonable amount of money one should take for this holiday? Any ideas welcome...

Ah I'm a fool. I'm not on this trip at all. I'm on the Spice Trails of Kerala leaving on Saturday. Well good luck on your trip. Maybe our two trips will coincide somewhere, if so I'll be sure to say hello.
