Khumbu Climber April 2010 -

Hi Martyn, I'm booked for this trip with my friend Alan, both of us from N Wales. Are you in training?!

Hywel

HelloMy brother, -

Hello

My brother, Patrick, and I joined Jagged globe in Switzerland for the Alpine introduction and we are off to Scotland in February for some winter climbing.  Not much walking to be had in Kent so we are cycling instead.  I have received the new brochure and it appears that we will be in tea houses rather than all camping.

Looking forward to the trip.

Island Peak April 2010 -

2 of us have booked on today... we're both looking forwards to it very much.

We are also from North Wales.

Planning our own trip to the Atlas in January to do Toubkal, and to have a bit of a warm up. Hoping that we get more snow here in Snowdonia as well !!!

TNI Island Peak -

Been booked on this one for a year now, SO looking forward to it!   G/f was up at Base Camp with Exodus earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Scotland -

Martyn, when you say you are coming to Scotland for 'winter climbing' do you mean winter walking or real climbing?

If you're up for walking, I'd be happy to meet up with you both in the Braemar area.

People so far... -

Just worked out that so far it's

Gill & I (Stephen), Martyn & Patrick, Hywel & Alan and Jim

That's 7 of us... the max group size is 14, and there are 4 spaces left - that means that there are 3 others out there who are booked on.....

Looking forwards to meeting you all

Interested to know how much -

Interested to know how much experience the others have of rope-work - ice-axe and crampons are second nature to me, but not had to use ropes before.

Khumba climber -

Morning all

Jim,  Patrick and I are booked on the Winter Mountaineering course with Jagged Globe an intermediate course concentrating on the use of ropes and safe belays.

Rope work... -

I've been an avid climber (both rock and ice) for years, as well as a Mountain Rescue team member. Gill has a little experience from Ice climbing with me last winter as well as a little rock climbing - planning on getting some more over the next couple of months.

We've had some great weather here in Snowdonia over the last couple of weeks, so are making the most of it...!!!

Looking forwards to meeting you all

Stephen

Jagged Globe... -

By the way - Jagged Globe are a great company to go with for more experience ... I often meet their trip leaders through work.

Very profesional

 :-)

Can't make it??? -

Patrick and I have had to postpone the trek, Patrick has damaged his knee and been advised by the Specialist not to go.  Will have to wait until October.  Hope you all have a great trip, look forward to reading the comments on your return.

 All the best.

...and then there were 4..??? -

By my reckoning, that leaves 4 of us still on this trip...

Me (Stephen), Gill, Jim & Andy

Is there anyone else out there who's also booked on? Is there a point where the trip will be cancelled? - I'm very much hoping that this will not be the case!!

Trip numbers -

If I remember correctly there were 7 people identified her eon the forum, with another 3 remianing anonymous...  So there should still be 5 known + 3 unknown there trip will continue.

Gill & I (Stephen), Hywel & Alan and Jim

If we drop below 8 i think it might be different...  :o(

Me (Stephen), Gill, Jim & Andy... unless there are any others....????

:-)

Count me in - Andrew from -

Count me in - Andrew from Cardiff in South Wales.

I've just recieved my final joining instructions so I assume the trip will definitely be going ahead, which of course, is great news as I'm really looking forward to it!

Bye for now, Andrew
