Just booked onto this trip departing on October 10th. Travelling on my own and was wondering if there was anyone else doing the same trip?

I am going to Killy on 5th sep, I've had a posting since May too with no replies. Would also love to get in contact with others on trip and find out who they are and what they are doing for prep. I've managed to get in contact with another and we're meeting up this weekend to climb the welsh 15. In 2 weeks time off to Mont Blanc for some altitude training. What have you been doing
There is a lot of us 'Kili Trekers' on this site trying to contact others in they group. I've be in touch with most of you traveling to Kili in Aug, Sep and Oct. As there are a couple of us going to North wales to climb Snowdon on Sat 14 Aug, arriving the friday night and camping out. Sunday will look at Tryfan another lovely walk/climb. Therefore I would love to get as many Kili Trekers together to do some walking and talking. Are you getting your visa when you get there or before you travel? I know its cheaper to get when we arrive but I am thinking about the hassle..

I did see that but unfortunately I cant do the 14th, my cousin lives a couple of hours from snowdon so Im hoping to get up there first week of September then going up to the peaks for some more walking..
Have you done anything like this before? Im slightly worried about my fitness but hoping by the time we leave I'll be ok, Ive read a in a lot of these forums that people think its more mind over matter!
fittness is important, but you don't have to be super fit. This is my first time at this hieght, but went up Mont Blanc a month ago just for some altitude training. Was very hard 2 1/2 days up 1 1/2 down. only 1000m shorter than kili. Am doing the Rongor route and Mt meru first ( 4,500m) Yes altitude is the main reson most don't make it, not fitness jim
I'm Kerrys friend lol (Kerry, finally I'm here! :P) I am also very excited about the trip! Seemed it would never arrive and it's just there around the corner!! And still have not rucksack! Any advise?
It's just round the corner now!! I'm trying to get to the gym as much as possible and spending a lot of time cycling and walking - but still a bit worried about fitness too!!
What are people doing about visas? Getting them beforehand or at the airport?
Also what are people doing about immunisations? Have looked at the fit to travel site and arranged to get those at the doctors.
I have decided to get my visa when we get there, its seems pretty straight forward from what I can understand and will be cheaper too..
I have an appointment made for 6th Sept to have my yellow fever jab at my doctors, they have said I wont need any other injections as I had a few when I went to mexico a couple of years back.. I am going to speak to them about malaria tablets as well..
I cannot believe its only 6 weeks away!!!
Got my jabs this morning. Think i am going to get my visa there too, it does sound pretty straight forward and if it's what others are doing shouldn't be too bad :)
I'm starting to feel a little under prepared now it is getting so close! Been stocking up on base layers and trekking type clothes but still not quite sure what i need to take!!
How are you feeling after your yellow fever and what anti malaria tablets did you get? I have mine on Thursday and my friend (Beth) felt really rough after hers so not looking forward to it!
Have you received you kit bag yet? I got mine today and really dont know how we are going to get everything in it.. Im quite pleased most of the things on my kit list is crossed off, got most of the stuff from Nomad Travel and Im going to get my clothes all in one shop (hopefully!) on Thursday then Im pretty much there..
Still worrying if I am fit enough but my mum has told everyone I am stubborn so hopefully that'll help with the mind over matter bit!!

Hi, Yellow fever jab is on Friday as had to go to a different clinic to get it - hopefully it wont be too bad as supposed to be away for the weekend! I've got my kit bag, i'm hoping that between that and my rucksack i should be able to get everything in. I've managed to tick most the things off the kit list but think i'm going to pick up a few more clothes just in case! I know i'm bound to forget the one thing i need most of all.
I'm the same i'm hoping my stubbonness will get me to the top if my fitness starts to ebb. I'm hoping that with an intensive push over these last few weeks my fitness will be fine.
I'm travelling up to Heathrow from Poole but will probably stop over at my parents in Epsom the night before to save a paniced last minute rush (and also a convenient lift to the airport!)
