Hi LorraineSorry taken so -

Hi Lorraine

Sorry taken so long to reply, v. busy at work!.  We are based in Cornwall, how is your training going?  We have got most of our clothing, got to get a few more bits though. If you haven't already heard of them, its worth speaking to Trek Hire Uk, they are based in Surrey and do training days, which gives you advice on everything you need to know plus you do a 17 mile trek, they run them on saturdays, all details on their website, www.trekhire.co.uk   We are going to go on one to give us a guage of our fitness and where we need to be with it all. hope this info helps.  If its easier and you would like to keep in touch, we could always e-mail, let me know what suits, take it easy   Jo

Hi Jo,Training going well.  -

Hi Jo,

Training going well.  My cousin Diane who will be doing the trip with me is in Devon, I'm training myself, going to Di's over Easter, will be doing 3 consequtive days walking.  I've done a 13 miler that the longest so far, but every 3rd weekend doing 8 and 10 or 6 and 8 miles.  Gym during the week working on core body.  Thanks for the adivce on www.trek etc yes email me scotty8181@hotmail.com - anytime.  Have a good weekend, let me know how the training weekend goes - hope there's lots of up hill and down that will help.  Lorraine

Hi Loraine, You're doing -

Hi Loraine,

You're doing well by the sounds of it, went up to Surrey at weekend to do the trekking day with trekhire uk, really good, we did 17 miles in the wind and rain, but it certainly tested out the kit!.  Were doing the same over Easter 3-4 days of walking, and next week my personal trainer is going to start training me with a weight vest to get used to the backpack, oh joy!. Also can start running again now as had an injury so getting there.  Well done on your training, let me know where you're walking to in Devon, maybe be able to steal some good routes from you!!, take care, Jo

Hi Jo,Well done for -

Hi Jo,

Well done for completing the trek in the wind and rain.  Weather forecast for Devon over Easter mild and dry (thank goodness) Nottingham forecast snow on Tuesday this week??!! I've now completed an 18 miler, and still concentraing in gym, improved by 25%  Email me, I gave email in last message.  I'll let you know the routes that Diane has planned when completed. Apparently we are doing a costal walk, Dartmoor and a local walk, no idea on mileage, but were concentrating on 'hours' 6/7 on the first day 5/6 on second day and same on 3rd day - if I'm still breathing after this, I'll message again - have a good Easter - Lorraine

Hi -

I've just joined up for the Lemosho trip and have begun by looking at what sleeping bag I need - can't believe the prices! I'm also attending a gym, running (slowly!) and walking to improve my fitness.  Hopefully we've got long enough to do so!

There is a lot of us 'Kili Trekers' on this site trying to contact others in they group. I've be in touch with most of you traveling to Kili in Aug, Sep and Oct. As there are a couple of us going to North wales to climb Snowdon on Sat 14 Aug, arriving the friday night and camping out. Sunday will look at Tryfan another lovely walk/climb. Therefore I would love to get as many Kili Trekers together to do some walking and talking. If you are insterested e-mail me on jim.donald@babcock.co.uk I think it would be great to get everyone together and discuss 'Kili'

Hear from you Jim
