Kilimanjaro 2nd October 2012 -

Hi

I am going to be trekking Kili with my brother in October and I am trying to get all the advice I can on what is essential to take and wear.

We are going through Ultimate Kilimanjaro and I am hiring a sleeping bag & mat from them. Is this a good idea or should I invest in my own and take it?

I am going from Australia to Kili and will be 59 when I make the climb so I am a little wary of what it will be like. I would also like to know about tipping porters and guide, what is considered fair?

I do not yet have my jacket and would be interested in recommendations for the type of jacket to buy.

Rae
