Kilimanjaro general advice -
Trip - TYW - KILIMANJARO CLIMB - RONGAI ROUTE, Departure Date - Saturday 2nd February 2013
I am climbing Kili in Feb his year and was wondering if anyone has general advice. What's the food like on the trek ? Can you buy energy bars and the like over there or should I take them from uk ? Any kit I should take hats not on the standard kit list Any advice would be great Thanks

Did you download the specific Kilimanjaro kit list? It definitely lists a hat (both a sunhat and a warm hat) and pretty much everything you need to take. I'm going in Feb too but a different route. I'd definitely suggest taking your own cereal bars etc and whatever snacks you normally take walking. From experience at altitude, you can lose your appetite very easily (and food is important for energy) so it's worth taking something you know and like. From the reviews, the food on trek is pretty good, but it depends what you like...
