Trip - TYW - KILIMANJARO CLIMB - RONGAI ROUTE, Departure Date - Saturday 12th January 2013
Hi, is anyone else booked for this trip?

Hi. Do you mean the one -
Hi. Do you mean the one 12-19 Jan in Tanzania? (Departing UK 11jan?) I'm now confirmed on the trip. Looking forward to it, but I need to update some of my kit!

Hi. Yes that's the one. -

Hi. Yes that's the one. Sorry I have just realised I have missed the 'a' out of Rongai. I'm really looking forward to it too, although I've never done anything as extreme as this before, have you? I have just started buying my kit last weekend (so many trousers to choose from). Are you coming alone or are you coming with anyone else?

Hi Kayleigh It's my first -
Hi Kayleigh It's my first extreme trip as well and I'm coming alone. I haven't yet started to get my kit! I have some items that might be sufficient, but a few definitely need updating. And boots are probably the most important!

Glad I'm not the only one -

Glad I'm not the only one then. How is your training going? My friend's husband is coming too, although I don't really know him too well.

I've been doing boot camp -
I've been doing boot camp for the last 6 months. Not sure if it will help for the altitude, but I'm reasonably fit now! How about you?

Bootcamp too, hill walks, -
Bootcamp too, hill walks, gym, netball, ridiculosly long walks. I'm the fittest I've been in my life and that's saying something for me. I'm thinking the same with the altitude. Where abouts are you coming from?

I live in the UK, coming -
I live in the UK, coming from Hertfordshire. And you?

Nice, I live in Hampshire. I -
Nice, I live in Hampshire. I purchased my down jacket and soft shell jacket today

I'm hiring the outer, the -
I'm hiring the outer, the sleeping bag and mat. Still got to do some shopping - I know I'm leaving it a little late!

I was thinking of hiring the -
I was thinking of hiring the sleeping bag, I'm still undecided yet. I think the guy (Simon) that's coming with me is hiring a lot of his items.

I don't have a decent 40L -

I don't have a decent 40L pack. Do you think using my 75-80L one will be too much at that altitude? I suppose I could buy another pack..

Have you done any other Exodus trips? This is my fourth.

Hi. Sorry just realised I -

Hi. Sorry just realised I didn't write back. No I haven't done any other trips on here before, but I'm sure I will get the bug. Umm that does seem quite large, but I suppose it's what you are comfortable with that is what matters. Mine is 40L and I'm going to try and pack light.

Pack -
I did this trip with a different company and the porters carried our main packs and the packs took a bit of a beating. So if you already have a pack that is in reasonable shape, I would take that (not a new one).

How did you find it? I fly -
How did you find it? I fly out tomorrow and so excited... Although I've managed to break my index finger and can't bend the thing. Do you have any last minute advice?

Hi Kayleigh. Look out for me -
Hi Kayleigh. Look out for me at the departure lounge! I managed to break one of my toes a couple of weeks ago - it's still strapped up! But now that I've broken the proverbial leg, I'm sure we will have a fantastic time :-) See you soon

Oh my god, how did you -
Oh my god, how did you manage that? Mines in its splint thingy still too... I definitely will do, I've got such bad butterflies. I'm like a child at Christmas ha ha ha. See you tomorrow
