I'm glad you replied. No I haven't heard from anyone esle, its only us in here so far. I'm getting excited too. Already got my thyphoid and hepatitis A vacination. I have never been to any kind of trip like this. The highest mountain a climbed was only a 1000m high and it was 20 yers ago so I don't know what to expect from the high altitude and long steady ascent walks. Have you ever been to a trip like this before? I bet your are a big trekker.

Hi guys.  I'm going on the trip too.  Just over six weeks to go so becoming a reality and getting excited now !  Desperately going through the packing list and checking what I need and don't have.  Bound to forget something as I always do !!  This is probably the toughest trek I will have done but feeling relaxed at present.   Nick Mesure

Hi Nick, nice to hear from you, I wish all of us get contacted in here.  Where can we find out how many of us going on this trip? I got about 95% of the gear and other necessities ready. I have a question about the luggage, would it be wise or practical to take a suitcase with everything in it including the daily rocksack, or shall I take a middle size rocksack only which I can use for my daypack as well? Might be a silly question but I would much apprechiate if you could share your experience with me. As you could see above I haven't been to a trip like this before.    Viki

Hi Viki. sorry it has taken mtte a while to get back to you.  You probably need a daypac for every use and a much larger bag but a trekbag or large rucksack would be better than a suitcase I think.  A suitcase is not terribly practical on these types of trips.   Did Exodus send you a bag ?  I think we are all entitled to one and these are ideal.

Hi folks - am just starting to get myself organised.... a bit later than some of you !! look forward to catching up with you all - will hopefully join up with the main group on the flight from Nairobi to K...or when we all arrive in K.  Best wishes J

I am also on this trip.  Getting very excited now.  Spent the weekend buying the last few bits and pieces and packing.  Am sure I will repack at least twice before Saturday - too many seasons and different activities to pack for!

Hi Guys,

I spent the weekend shopping as well. Still got couple of items I'm waiting for to be arrived by post :) I got all my gear on the bedroom floor in piles it makes it easy to see through what, how and where to pack. Does anyone know how much the weight limit is for handluggage?

Hi Viki,

I checked this on the Kenya Airways website a while ago- it is 10kg. Although for the internal flights all it says is"a small bag".

Just picked up Malaria tablets and foreign currency - now good to go.  2 days!!!
