Lhasa to Katmandu Ride
Thank you. We opted for down sleeping bags rated to +15. Down is less bulky and lighter. With a 20 lb weight allowance (not including bikes) it makes one really consider maximum bene for each item.
Do you have any suggestions regarding shoes? I'm currently thinking our Shimano M076 cycling shoes and my Keen closed toe/heel sandels whick I can cycle in if my feet need some breathing room.
Thanks for your detailed information. I'll check into the Merrels.
Regarding weight limit, as I understand it the 44 lbs includes our bikes which are estimated to weigh about 1/2 of our allowance.....is this true.
Thanks again,
Renee'
Thanks Olly....we were thinking 5 lb personal carry on....5kg helps.
Is it worth taking a DSLR? with telephoto lenses?
Glad you are joining us on our trip.

We are booked for the Lhasa to Katmandu Cycle trip in mid August. Can anyone tell us what the low rating on our sleeping bags should be? We've heard both 3 and 4 season suggestions. Since we'll be in guesthouses and hotels, hopefully heated at high altitudes what is the best guess for average highs and lows this time of year.
Many thanks
