Mah....Cycling around Cuba !!

I'm doing the same trip but departing on 5th March. Shame . . . I'd love to chat to someone about it.

So which was your first cycling trip and how did it go?

 

 

 

I'm doing the same trip but departing on 20 Feb. My only other cycling trip with Exodus was the Andalucia one a few years ago. Absolutely loved it, though my bum was pretty sore as I'm not a regular cyclist. Been going to spinning classes in preparation this time!

Spinning sessions and gel seat covers are my only hope of ensuring survival. Anybody got any other tips for preserving the nether regions? It's the day in Cuba when we cycle 87 kilometres that's got me panicking. I imagine a glowing red bum, the likes of which you'd only normally see in a Tom & Jerry cartoon.

Make sure you have some decent cycling shorts too! Last time I had some cheap Decathlong ones, which were better than nothing, but..... now I've got some more expensive Sugoi ones, which don't feel like a nappy and seem to be much more protective. You can also get gel to rub on first (or use Vaseline) which is supposed to help! I've been doing lots of spinning classes, but not sure it's going to help much since it's only 60 minutes at a time!
