Malaria tablets for Classic Vietnam and Angkor

I did Vietnam and Cambodia 3 years ago and was strongly advised to take them for the Mekong delta and Cambodia (the 2nd half of the trip). It's the only time I've ever taken them.

my partner and i did this trip last xmas and didnt bother at all, we had no problems just used insect repellent in cambodia but i guess its up to individual choice
I've had conflicting information, should i be taking Malarone for all the trip or just Cambodia. Going 06 Nov so pretty urgent. Thanks
