Malaria tablets needed?

Trip - AOB - TRAILS OF BORNEO, Departure Date - Sunday 28th March 2010
Do you need to take malaria tablets for this trip? My doctor has suggested I didn't, but I have since read internet sites with conflicting information. Thanks for your help.

We did this trip two years ago and didn't take anything for malaria. We were told by our travel clinic that the risk was minimal.
Have a great time it's an awesome trip, lots of variety and the summit of Kinabalu is just magic. Make sure you have long sleeves and preferably trousers that tie at the bottom and lots of insect repellant. I know Deet is horrid but its the only thing that works.
