Hey Di. I am all signed up and ready for this one! Cant wait to get out there though I must admit to being a bit worried about the camping aspect! Should be great fun.
If it's like the previous - 9th Aug 2012 - 8:59am
If it's like the previous treks I've done, the camping is one of the best bits, lots of laughs. Just make sure you have a good sleeping bag and a warm jacket for the evenings. I'm getting excited now. The weather in Marrakech is currently 46 degrees so I hope it cools down a little though!
I'm on it!! First Exodus - 18th Aug 2012 - 6:16pm

packing dilemmas - 28th Aug 2012 - 11:00am
I'm having second thoughts about my packing now...the weather has been roasting in Morocco recently by the lok of things, but I know things can be very different in the mountains. The advice is for hats, gloves, warm trousers, full waterproofs etc for September departures which I was largely planning to ignore since it's the beginning of Sept and so hot, but looking at some of the pictures from other people, it looks b****y cold on the summit! How much cold weather gear are other people taking? I was going to go only with a light waterproof jacket and thin trousers plus fleece (and light down jacket for emergencies and at night), with thermals for the night.
I am only taking light - 29th Aug 2012 - 10:01pm
I am only taking light trousers, waterproofs, a couple of fleeces, long sleeved t's - stuff like that to layer. Don't have any thermals or warm trousers so will have to take my chances! Fingers crossed for no early blizzards!
Yes, the weather looks like - 30th Aug 2012 - 11:47pm
Yes, the weather looks like a bit of a miced bag! I am taking 2 pairs of trousers and one zips off into shorts, short and long sleeves t shirt. Thin fleece, mid weight fleece and thermal top and bottoms. Best to cover all eventualities! It did say we were like to get a shower so taking waterproofs too!
Kerry - hopefully see you at - 30th Aug 2012 - 11:49pm

Ems152, thanks! I came to - 31st Aug 2012 - 8:01am
Ems152, thanks! I came to the same conclusion. The last night or two could be cold I think, so taking full thermals that I can wear at night and on the ascent if necessary. taking a warm hat and gloves as my hands amd ears get cold easily. Still debating whether to bother with waterproof trousers as I normally walk in shorts, but I guess you never know. I was glad of them on the one day on the Inca trail that it rained...
Oh and for those on the group flight out, I'll be the one with the black Exodus kitbag rather than the new green one! Just to be different! looking forward to meeting you all!
