Hello again Paul,
I will be heading to heathrow on the morning of the flight, as I am just a 2 hour train journey to the airport. We could meet up then maybe. all the best Pete
Hi Pete,
Sounds a good idea pete ill let you know how i get on with my visa application this week.
cheers
paul
Hi Pete, i got my visa back today i went through the embassey direct printed the form off paided £44 for
visa and £8 for the passport to be returned recored delivery it is valid for 30 days from entry.
Are you taking malaria tablets with you pete spoke to the chemist today and has said 100% need them for vietnam.
paul
hi paul, posted my visa today, and yes i will be taking malaria tablets, i've gone for Malarone these seem to be the best option. they work out about £2:50p each, £35 for 12. you need a private perscription but you can get them on the internet without but you have to pay that bit more, so i'm told. i already have my perscription and i will probably get mine from the chemist. cycle clips at the ready.
pete
Hi Pete, i registered with lloyds pharmacy on line as a patient filled out the form asked for doxcycline didnt have to pay for a private prescription got 48 tablets for £40 works out 0.83 each not bad.
how is your training going im trying to get out a least 3 times a week
nice to hear from you again
paul
Hello again Paul, nice to hear from you too. I think I will stick with the Malarone you only have to take them for one week after leaving the area, as Doxcycline you have to take for four weeks! (according to our travel nurse) as for my training I cycle to work 3 times a week which takes up 14 miles round trip a day and like you trying to get out as much as I can on my days off. Iv'e done a nice cycle trip taking in a coastal path onto an old railway line up country onto the south downs way back to my house which is 32 miles. tomorrow I intend to go further afield. Why don't you e-mail me at:- peterjackson_41@hotmail.com
looking foreword to hearing from you. Peter
Hi Paul & Pete
I'm on the same trip as you both and this will be my 4th trip with Exodus, once with an ex and twice on my own. Really looking forward to it, even tho I'm expecting to be 'the one at the back'! I'm flying direct from Manchester so I guess I'll see you in Bangkok.
The trips I've done before have been great, hence coming back again. Morocco, Sri Lanka & Cuba, but this is my 1st cycling one. I've always found the groups gel well & have kept in touch with a couple of people from the Cuban trip 2 years ago. Usually a real mix of ages, backgounds etc. The tour guides have been good & often throw in extra little things that you don't expect. All in all, I hope this trip lives up to the last 3.
Now, I must get my visas sent off...
Janet
Hi Janet, nice to have you on board i thought me and pete where the only ones going for a minute, had the opion to fly from manchester but they wanted the flight money straight away at the time of booking!!
So im going to drive down to london now,
as the email says dont worry about being at the back i have done two cycling holidays now nepal and canada and have been at the back on both.
spk soon

Hi Paul
Yes, meeting up for a ride would be a nice idea. I plan to go out this weekend, hopefully Saturday & Sunday & same again the weekend after so if you have some free time either of those weekends, drop me a line on here or email me at janetpgorman@yahoo.co.uk & let's see if we can meet up for a few hours, preferably on a nice, flat bit of cycle path!
I found some padded cycling shorts at a knock down bargain price, the Vietnam visa has been sent off & I may even get my typhoid jab next week! Could life get any better???
Janet
Hi Neil, nice to have you both along for the ride are you travelling from heathrow or manchester, hopefully we will be able to point one another out by the time we go in the departure lounge, cycle helmets always a give away!!!!!!!!!!

paul
Hi Neil and to your good lady, not long now and getting very excited. looking foreword to meeting you on the trip. the heat is a bit of a worry to me, you should be ok as i understand australia can get a bit warm? see you soon, pete
Nice to hear there's people from further afield than the UK. My sister's in Brisbane so I'm a fairly regular visitor to Australia. I'm sure you will be a lot more acclimatised to the heat than us poms!
Having spoken to Paul on the phone, I think I can safely say at least 2 of us will be well up for the odd beer at the end of 90k days &, if previous Exodus trips are anything to go by, we won't be the only ones!
I'm hoping you all won't be super-fit as I'll need some company in the mini bus from time to time!
See you in 4 weeks.
Janet
Hi All,
as anyone got there tickets yet, my luggage for life arrived today so im nearly ready to go.
Dont suppose if any one knows if the trip is booked up and how many are going?
spk soon
