Not long to go... -
Trip - MIK - KERALA & TROPICAL INDIA, Departure Date - Sunday 3rd February 2013

Sorry but I was unable to think of a witty or inspiring title as I'm too stressed because I haven't...

  • had any vaccinations
  • got my visa
  • done any of the training I planned to do so I was first up every hill! (I'll be lucky to make it up a single hill at all at this rate)
  • a clue what time the flights are

Can anyone reassure me that they too are in the same ill-prepared situation as I am and that it will all be fine...??!  Please!

Anyway my name's Laura, this is my first cycling holiday and my first Exodus holiday and I don't know if I'm more nervous or excited, but it'd be nice to hear from you if you're also on this trip! :)

Well done for being the first to post. Plenty of time to sort everything out. Our visas came really quickly and you can always go to London to pick it up. I'm going with my husband. He hasn't done a cycling holiday before and it is our first exodus trip We haven't done as much cycling as we had hoped due to weather Think the only really tricky day is the hill to OOty Am hoping intensive spinning that I started yesterday will help Looking forward to meeting you. I don't know flight times either but think its Heathrow

Hi Laura and Caroline. Well I for one am starting to get seriously excited! I've just accepted that I won't be able to do as much training as I'd like (or indeed any training!), and I'm certainly not risking life and limb on the sheet ice outside at the moment. Unfortunately my last activity holiday ended up with various bones in unusual places, so family and friends have been nagging me to be sensible and take care. I'm really looking forward to a nice relaxing trip with amazing scenery, fantastic food and great company, but admit to getting a tad alarmed by this video which I found on YouTube. I don't anticipate going downhill quite as fast as this chap, but it's a great video to watch (unless you were his insurance broker). Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxQ_uN-oVeQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player Looking forward to meeting everyone, Nick.

Thanks for that little video -

Thanks for that little video clip Nick, feeling soooo much better about my ability to keep up!  What worries me is the uphills that must have preceeded these tricky overtaking-buses-and-motorbikes downhill maneuvers...

Laura
