October 31st - Galapogos Wildlife Cruise
Hi Chris,
Myself and my partner Paul are also booked on this trip. I'm Alison, by the way. We too booked our own flights (with KLM via Amsterdam); we arrive in Quito early on the morning of October 31st. We live in Cumbria, so it was easier and cheaper for us to book our own flights and it also means that we can check our luggage all the way through to Quito on departure in the North west. Like you, we also wanted to avoid going via the US.
We did the East Indies Seatrek last year with Exodus which was wonderful; a couple of years ago we also did Peru (including an Amazon extension), albeit independently. I'm assured by Paul that this will be a pretty special trip - he has been before, although it was 13 years ago.
Exodus agreed to confirm the trip on receipt of our booking (mid March). At the time, there were 5 of us in total, so there are at least two more people to meet.
Best wishes.

Hi,
My name is Chris and I'm of on the Galapogos wildlife cruise on Oct 31st. If your reading this and are also on the trip please drop a line.
I'e arranged my own flights as I have found in the past that itinerarys can be changed at the last minute and people who have arrive on the compay flights sometimes go straight from the airport into a full days travel or sightseeing. I also wanted to avoid going via the USA as a number of friends who have done this recently have been held up for long periods with security checks and missed their connection flights. I'm flying via Madrid with Iberia. From previous experience I would say they are an average company - not on par with Virgin, Quatar or Singapore Airlines but far better than American or Continental Airlines which I gather could be used by Exodus.
Last time I was in S.America it was with Naturetrek in Peru and that was very special so I'm hoping this trip will live up to its billing. Anyway drop a line and I look forward to meeting you soon.
