OMO Valley
Hi, as Ethiopia is a malaria - 11th Jan 2010 - 5:07pm
Hi, as Ethiopia is a malaria area, I would strongly suggest you take precautions against mosquitoes. Using insect repellent and covering up at dawn and dusk will help but nothing will be 100% effective. I would talk to your local pharmacy about what the strongest repellent they have is.
Regarding water bottles, it depends on how much water you need in a hot climate. There will be some opportunities during the day to purchase water but the Omo Valley is a remote area . Have a wonderful trip, Elaine at Exodus.

Is insect repellant necessary for this trip and if so, what type (amount of DEET) is necessary or will nothing deter the mosquitos?
Do I really need a 2 liter water bottle or will 1 liter be okay?
