Long climb 36 hairpins, longer and steeper than Alpe D'heuz, but not a race so can take as long as you like (took me 2h 15m ish! for the actual climb) Do some climbing training if you can (I live in N Yorks and although I am 57, I am lightweight, so used to and do not have a real problem with hills).
Rest of the trip is relatively flat and easy although some long days, descent is fast and fun if you like descents and have some good MTB skills (potholes) but can be a bit dangerous if you are not careful. Great trip, fascinating country and people, interesting food, hope your fellow travellers are as good as mine were. Enjoy.
