hi -

Now that Christmas is over I need to start getting organised .

We are leaving a day earlier  and then spending a few days with friends in BA

on the way back.Where in Scotland do you live?

Getting Ready -

Hi Carol,

I stay just outside Glasgow, so journey seems a bit epic.

How is the getting organised going?  I've not really started, but suppose I'd better get a move on as it's now less than two weeks till I leave.  I was just looking at the itinery and wondering where or if I can get some laundry done on the way round so I can keep my packing to the minimum.

Hi

Normally there is somewhere you can get clothes washed or do it yourself-especially if you pack

some clothes pegs -Ask Karol at Exodus

Not long now-

Hi

Does anyone know if the wildfires that have ocurred over the last week in the Torres del Paine National Park will impact our trip? We haven't heard anything from Exodus so far, but will contact them tomorrow (Monday 9th) when the office reopens to find out.  Some news reports are indicating that the park will remain shut for the whole of January - it would be good to know what is happening.

Wildfires -

Hi

The BBC were reporting that the Torres del Paine Park reopened on Wednesday:

However, it doesn't tell us what the impact is on the ground as it were.

Thanks Karen. I've since done a bit more searching on news sites and came across some further details about what is happening on the Wanderlust website:

http://www.wanderlust.co.uk/magazine/news/torres-del-paine-national-park-partly-reopens

Looks like some of the areas on the itinery are still closed - Lago Grey and Rio Serrano, but Las Torres / Torres camp appear to be open.  I'll try and find out more tomorrow.

Hi Alastair,

Thanks for the additional link, if you find out anything from Exodus tomorrow please leave us a message.

Wildfires - Nat. Park has re-opened -

Just spoken to Karol at Exodus who have assured me that the park has now re-opened and the itinery will go ahead as planned. They said that it was only a small area of the park that was affected and not the part that we were going to.

Thank you -

Hi,

Thanks for the information.  Maybe see you at the airport, if not then Buenos Aires :-)
