I'm off to Peru in Oct and have heard conflicting information on currency restrictions. Can I get the Sol before I go or do I have to change it when I get there? If so, will there be an opportunity to change it when we arrive?
Also, what size day pack do people recommend? I'm using the one exodus provide as my main bag but not sure what size other bag to have. Would a 25 litre day pack be sufficient? How far in advance do you receive the bags?
Thank you in advance,
It should be possible to get Soles via your bank prior to departure, but I wouldn't recommend it due to the poor exchange rates - as it's not a currency that gets used much in the UK, the rates are generally awful, so you would get a lot more for your money if you changed in Lima. The best rates are for US Dollars, but you can also change Sterling and Euros at reasonable rates, and there are facilities at Lima airport to change money, as well as numerous ATMs both at the airport and near the hotel in Lima where you spend the first night.
With regard to packing, a 25-30 litre daypack should generally be sufficient to carry everything you need during the day whilst on the trek, with the porters carrying the rest of your gear - this will be accessible in camp each evening. The kit bags usually arrive 2-3 weeks before departure, so you should expect to receive yours towards the end of September.
I hope you have a great trip, and if you have any more questions about the trip then please feel free to either reply to this message or call our customer operations team who will be able to help out further.

Thanks for your advice. No doubt I will have more questions nearer the time.
