This might seem like a strange question but my wife and I are thinking of joining the Peru Explorer tour this December but are wondering whether we will see any turtles on the trip or not.
The reason for asking is that my wife suffers from Chelonaphobia - a severe fear of turtles! Yep, this is a real phobia.
Any honest feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I look after the Operations side of our Peru trips and have been out there a few times. The only time you may possibly come across the turtles is when you are in the Amazon and there is a chance you will see small ones on the river banks when you are out exploring. You can of course let your leader know about this phobia and he can give your wife warning in case he spots any on the banks, but you won't be particularly close to them.
I hope that helps,
