MXW Petra & Wadi Rum by Bike - 19 Dec 09 - 20th Nov 2009 - 12:05am
Hi Magda,
Its good to hear from someone else on this trip. Only a month to go, I am looking forward to some winter sun. I am a bit of a weekend cyclist and have not been on a organised cycling trip before, I generally trek and have also done the EBC. I have wanted to visit Jordan for years, getting on a bike sounded like a great way to get an overview without sitting in a van for hours, it will be a change to be in a hotel bed most nights, I am looking forward to the night under the stars.I am trying to get out and put some miles in but it is not so easy with it being so dark (and wet as I live up north) after work, I don’t want to be at the back in granny gear ;-)
See you soon.
Martin
Hello MartinGreat to hear - 24th Nov 2009 - 12:07am
Hello MartinGreat to hear from you! I am counting the days now, with some apprehension I must say, as my training doesn't seem yield great returns. Cycling just an hour a day, downhill, with the wind behind me, cannot possibly be the reason, can it? ;-)I just came back from a hiking trip to the Black Mountain in Brecon Beacons NP - atrocious weather, fantastic bunch of people, great fun - so the jury is still out there on cycling vs hiking I must say!I've been on a Cycling Safari in Ireland some 10 years ago which was great if a tad hard work (hilly!) And I was fit then... So don't worry - this time the granny gear is all mine!On a (slightly) more serious note - I am really looking forward to this trip - a dream destination for a number of years. Also, I would love to chat about the EBC when we meet as I was planning on trekking it but didn't happened.Hope you and everyone else is doing fine and getting ready for the trip. Look forward to seeing you in +3 weeks' time!Best,M
