Trip - MIR - CYCLE THE BACKROADS OF SRI LANKA, Departure Date - Sunday 16th October 2011
Will MIR bikers arriving in Colombo October 16 have to pre-apply for a visa online? New fee?
I'll call the embassy today. Just wondered in anyone at Exodus has researched this.

The embassy told me that I could get a visa at the airport. Nothing needed in advance.

Dear Roger,
You are correct, at the moment British passengers visiting Sri Lanka get a free visa on arrival.
From January 1st 2012 this will be changing and visitors will need to apply for a visa (Electronic Travel Authority) online at least 72 hours before they arrive in Sri Lanka. This will cost east tourist US$50 for a 30 day visa. We will be putting details of this in our trip notes, and creating a visa information sheet, for 2012 as soon as details are finalised.
