Thanks for getting the thread started. I'm booked and getting very excited now.
This is my first visit to India and first time on this type of trip. A friend visited the region last year and saw lots of snow leopards so I'm hoping we're as lucky.
I didn't realise quite how much stuff we need to take. I've spent the past 2 weeks generally baffled by thermal technology and outdoors shops but have slowly been getting the essentials together.
If you and our fellow travelers are up for a meet up before hand lets organize something here.
hi, its Valerie here, your leader. I have led this trip the last 4 years. if anyone has any queries re gear post on here or mail me
I fly out on 27 Feb so will see you at Delhi airport or at the hotel. Take lots of warm gear - you only really need one set as you do not change much. Once you are in the warm gear you stay in it. Warm socks and gloves as well. maybe put some elastic on gloves as fiddley keep taking them on and off to use binoculars. bring binoculars as it makes the trip more interesting if you have your own. good sleeping bag. Sigg water bottle or nalgene bottle good idea and then you can fill with hot water at night for hot water bottle. flask is good for taking warm drink out in the daytime. looking forward to being there again this winter.
