Is there anybody there? CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: DOBBIACO 8th Jan 2011

Just booked myself on this trip. I'm also new to cross-country but have done plenty of ice-skating.

Hi John,

 I haven't skied in about 15 years (did a week of downhill in the Cairngorms) but had a crack at cross-country skiing in January while out in the states. Dosen't seem too tricky to learn the basics, I had no instruction except from some friends, but the downhills I couldn't master! First thing I tried was the old snowplough but the skis don't have edges like downhill skis so didn't work too well. Guess i'll find out the correct way in January!

Looks there maybe 12 other joining us.  We should be getting some more snow before the 8th Jan. Probably correct I chose level 1-2 then Don.

Viv have you never been on skis before then?
