Yes! I am booked. Looking forward to seeing if my heart can get the blood to those leg muscels! But I see some posts on altitude sickness on other departure dates. Any experience of this? Brendan
hi brendan, ive been a little higher than the summit of this trip, and altho ams is unpredictable, providing ones fitness and health is of a good standard, and people hydrate correctly, dont rush around and listen to the guides then really there shouldnt be any problems. our summit day starts at around the 3000m mark and we return to that level the same day, it should be fine. altho i did find the higher up i climbed that my times tables seemed to become v difficult,ha ha.
where are you fltying in from, are you on the group flight? been on any trips before?
I'm booked onto this too! My first Exodus trip.
Not sure which date I plan to arrive yet (haven't booked flights), coming in from London Gatwick.
Take care! Varun.
Hi Mark, Varun
I am really looking forward to this hike. I was out twice at the weekend in the Mourne mountains in County Down...about 30 miles south of Belfast. My first exodus trip as well. I fly in from Belfast to Heathrow on the Sunday morning to join the 1100 British Midland flight to Marrakech. What is the Exodus kit bag for? I was planning to take a 40 litre rucksack in the hold with a smaller daypack on board. What do you recommend?
greetings to you all. this will be my fourth trip with exodus. its all starting to get a little exciting now,so ive a growing collection of kit bags. since there are mules or porters on most trips the kit bags are supplied to help them carry or pack them. and since airport throwers(baggage people) tend to treat kit like foot balls , id rather use the kit bag than send my exspensive rucksak , that has lovely handles belt buckles etc on it through the nasty luggage system.day sack is great hand luggage. but thats just me.
im going to be travelling in my walking boots so i can get more kit and wieght in my bag. and while im on planes ill take em off( clean socks only ha ha ) dont forget ibrupfen for altitude headaches and water bottles for plenty of fluid going in. a friend of mine did this trip a year or so again and she suggested it gets cold at night and to take thermals, but some how i wont be.
anyway hope to see you all there ,im flying from gatwick in the evening on the sunday.
