I'm booked on this and it seems to be a full trip. Hope the other travelers post on here! This is my first trip with Exodus so hope it's a good one. You appear to be meeting us in Cusco? Is anyone else on the LAN group flight leaving 24th August?
Advice on Walking boots anyone please! I have some meindl Burma pro boots but they're way too heavy and have struggled to get used to them. Anyone recommend other boots they'll be using for this hike?
finally a reply yeh im leaving on the 24 my 21st birthday!!!
lookally im a pretty good technical advisor at who used to work at go outdoors lol
id recomend these http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/quest-4d-gtx-p150261 solomon quests
and http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/mammut-mens-mt-trail-gtx-boots-p133493 mammuts there a tad lighter.
it depends on your shape of your foot though just get the ones that fit perfect!!
look forward to meeting you and everyone!
I just bought some Soloman walking boots ready for this trip and am trying to wear them in a bit in preparation!!
Am also booked on the flight on the 24 and it is my first trip with Exodus too. Taking a trip to Peru is certainly one way to spend your 21st birthday. Not long to go now...
i should hope more people will get in contact before we go,
9 weeks, you got your pack sorted?
so we're up to 3 people now! I've got most of my gear and have been breaking in my boots. Have my day sack with rehydration pouch, sleeping bag, deet, socks, sun cream etc.
mustn't forget my day wipes and hope no one else forgets too! Just need some hiking shorts and pants. Probably get the zip off ones. Then I think i'm about done.
im all done for my clothing about now ive got my trusty pack, boots i just need to get the little things now.
cant wait 9 weeks
You guys are both way ahead of me. I still have quite a lot to get, although there's clearly signficant limitations in terms of how much you can get in your bag!!!
Having never been on a proper trek before is there anything that novices always forget?
this is my first outside the uk,
id pack, duct tape, compeed blister plasters, climbing finger tape, rennie, lucozade tablets, dry bag for inside your rucksack, soap alcohol gel. off top of my head
Well thank you for the above advice. I think I'm just about ready - duct tape and all!!! Are you taking anything for altitude sickness?
ill look for you in the terminal.
im not taking anything for altitude all i would say is chewing on sweets helps me at altitude dont know why!
