Transport & time in Overland Vehicles

There are definitely some long driving days on this itinerary but there will be stops along the way for lunch and photos and to stretch your legs.  There are probably four days which are 8-9 hrs of travel time, including stops, and another three days which are 4-6 hrs of travel time.  The vehicle used on this itinerary is in one of Exodus' specialist overland vehicles. The vehicle carries all camping equipment, and is equipped with a large drinking water tank. For game viewing in the Masai Mara we use smaller 4WD vehicles.  I’m attaching photos of both of the vehicles to give you an idea of what they are like.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Take care,

I did this trip in 2011 and the truck is a great way of travelling - suprisingly comfortable, yet rugged enough to feel like your on an adventure.  Being high up does offer some great view of the countryside and villages (and the traffic in Kampala).

As Sarah says there are some long drives - generally the roads are pretty good, probably the bumpiest one we encountered was on the trip to the Mara, which was in 4WD.

All of the longer drive have breaks built in and they offer enough time to stretch you legs, grab some refreshments and see some local daily life.

Overall it's a really well balanced trip - you cover a lot of miles, but have lots of opportunity to see and do a ton of cool stuff.
