I've booked a walking holiday in Tuscany in July and am now wondering if it might be too hot for me, particularly if the walks are quite strenuous. Should have given this more thought I know but was seduced by the beauty of the place. Has anyone any experience of this holiday and can advise as to how the walks are organised for example is there a choice of level offered?.
Thanks a lot!
We've just returned from the walking in Tuscany trip and yes you do need lots of drinking water.
The walks are mostly through forest so there may be lots of shade. The leaves had not come through last week. It was hot lower down but breezy on the higher ground.
Our leader Sara was (is) amazingly sensitive to everyone's needs and I can't imagine her taking you out of your comfort zone. She chose the walks based on the day's conditions and the standards of the group.
I don't think you could be with a safer pair of hands.
If you are open with her about your concerns I am sure she will ensure that you have a comfortable time.
It was a great trip and I'd recommend it to anyone!
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this message. I hadn't gone onto the forum for ages but now the school holidays are here in Scotland and the holiday is nearer, I thought I'd better get organised and see what's what.
Thanks very much for the information. That was very helpful.
