Oops. Having started the thread I hadn't noticed there were replies! (I thought I'd set it to notify me by e-mail, but oh well).

Glad to know I'm not the only one on the 21st July trip Julia. And I hope that your trip is great too Marie-Louise.

I'm starting to realise the trip's not that far off now, and definitely looking forward to getting started.

Not sure if this is useful to people, but 1:25000 maps of France (and the whole of the Tour du Mont Blanc) can be viewed online. Interesting if you've not bought paper 1:25000 maps and want to scrutinise the route beforehand!

Go to www.geoportail.fr then click on 'Cartes IGN' over on the right, then enter 'Chamonix' (or somewhere local) into the search.The official Tour du Mont Blanc route is clearly shown (GR TMB).
