Good to hear from you.

Alex, daughter lives in east London. I live in Cheshire. Off to climb something in the Lakes at Easter, but finding the time is going to be interesting.

Well at least you have Peak -
Well at least you have Peak Disrict, the Lakes,Snowdonia and the Dales all within couple of hours- we have the Downs! I don't think there is much altitude training there. We live in Chislehurst which is in the borough of Bromley.I am planning a trip to Scotland for a hill walk when the weather is better and need to do get cardio fitness as much as possible as I have a sedentary job. water filtration -

Hi there,

Have just bought a couple of Aquapure filtration units on the recommendatit on of a friend. I was going to hire a sleeping bag for myself as Alex already has one, but have just seen some on an outlet site, so might actually buy one.

The trip up Scafell this weekend has been postponed due to the weather!

Have a good Easter.

equipment -

Hi - I have also been looking at equipment for the trip- I plan to hire a sleeping bag ( buy one as well), a couple of sleeping mats as well.I am looking at devices for water treatment- there are a number - check that the device helps reduce bacteria, viruses, protozoa and other impurities! I will keep investigating and will buy one eventually. we need to buy a couple of back packs just need to sort out the size. it might be worth getting some diamox tablets (for altitude sickness )- you can get from your GP  I will bring some anyway if required.

I have booked to go to scotland in June for a Munro walk. I wa sup in Yorkshire last week to visit my parents and got caught up in a blizzard on the M1/M62- I imagine scafell is treacherous.

Have a good Easter as well
