Waling the Amalfi Coast - 18 May Departure

Hi again - not really surprised nobody 'waling' the Amalfi Coast (have a sticky keyboard:-)

 

So - am trying again - is anyone scheduled for this trip?  Would be good to hear from some people.

Hello Geri, I had to let you have at least one reply to your post. This is my second Exodus trip (Although I am in double figures with Explore) It's my first time to Italy, friends who have been to the region tell me that it is a lovely area. Fred

Hello Geri and Juleee, Yes I am flying out of Gatwick it will be a first as I normally fly out of Heathrow. I bought a beginners course in Italian last month but it is still in its sealed wrapper! Exercise as also been rather neglected so I reckon I will be at the back of the group. Fred

Hi both - nice to have 2 people in touch! :-). No don't speak Italian apart from a few basic. Words. I speak French though and am in France this week! Don't worry about being at the back of the group Fred - you'll have company for sure! Perhaps we can all meet up pre flight for a coffee? Would be good to have some contact before we fly. Geri

I am flying from Gatwick too.  Still have to book my bus from Bristol.  I am waiting for flight confirmation about 2 weeks before we go I think. As for speaking Italian it's one thing to copy someone saying a couple of words in Italian on a tape quite another to actually speak in the country! Ciao! Julee

Hi Julie - yes we should receive our tickets about 2 weeks prior to departure. I live in Wiltshire, so about 35 miles from Bristol. Would be good to meet up at Gatwick prior to flight but we can arrange that nearer the date and we may have a few more people online by then . Geri Geri

It sounds like you are getting into the holiday mood early Geri with being in France. When I try to talk another language Julee I am sure that foriegners deliberately don't give the answer that is in the phrase book just to baffle. I live in Gloucestershire so it looks like there will be a South West come Centre contingent on our tour. Fred

Hi Fred - yes; that's funny, us all being next door to each other!  Yes; had a week staying with French friends and we did some coastal walking in Provence, so a bit of practice for the Italy trip!    I must dig out my Italian phrase book :-)

I think most of the travellers are couples so possibly not bothered about pre-contact.  I will be travelling solo and it's good to be able to meet up with people before boarding.  I look forward to seeing you then Juliet and will be in touch nearer the time to re-confirm!
